Meet the LEAP! Team

LEAP! is a group effort. We collaborate with a variety of brain health professionals to bring you a high-quality and evidence-based probram. The two experts who bring it all together are our LEAP! Coordinators (also known as LEAP! Coaches). Rachel Sandoval, dietitian, primarily coordinates programs in the Kansas City metro area. Erin Blocker, fitness expert, primarily coordinates programs in rural Kansas.

Erin Blocker, LEAP! Coordinator

I am excited to join the LEAP! Team as a LEAP! Coordinator. My primary focus is delivering LEAP! in rural communities. I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to share the latest research with rural residents and to help communities create positive change and promote brain health. As a Rural Kansas resident, I am able to share LEAP! with individuals and communities on a daily basis and have witnessed the impactful change that results from this unique program.

LEAP! programs empower individuals to make positive, lasting healthy behavior changes that not only reduce their risk for Alzheimer's disease, but for chronic disease in general. I am passionate about helping individuals set and reach goals, acquire knowledge and use that knowledge to live long, healthy, fulfilling lives.

Rachel Sandoval, LEAP! Coordinator

Nothing excites me like empowering individuals to live their best lives. I'm passionate about spreading Alzheimer's prevention knowledge and dedicated to staying on top of the most recent research. As a Registered Dietitian, my background is in nutrition, and I focus primarily on delivering LEAP! to the Kansas City metro area. My favorite part of my job is interacting with each LEAP! participant to help them implement brain-healthy changes in their own lives. I love hearing about how the classes have made a difference and empowered individuals to improve their lifestyles. Alzheimer's may be a scary disease, but my LEAP! classes are meant to be encouraging and fun. I'm proud to bring this valuable Alzheimer's prevention resource to both communities and individuals in the Kansas City area.
